Delhi Magistrate Releases Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been released from preventive detention in Delhi following an order by a Special Executive Magistrate on October 11, 2026. Their release came a day after they were detained by Delhi Police ahead of a planned protest concerning alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.
The three leaders had travelled from Mumbai to Delhi to participate in a demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The protest was intended to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over concerns raised by the group regarding the revision of electoral rolls.
According to reports, the authorities imposed conditions on the leaders' release, including a requirement to maintain peace and avoid activities that could disturb public order for one year. Their detention had attracted attention amid the wider political debate over electoral reforms and the handling of planned demonstrations in the national capital.
The release marks a development in the group's campaign against the Election Commission's electoral-roll revision process. However, the allegations raised by CJP remain contested, and the leaders' release does not itself establish whether any irregularities occurred. The issue continues to be a subject of political debate in India.
