Sneh Rana Sold to UP Warriorz for ₹30 Lakh in WPL Auction

Indian cricketer Sneh Rana has been signed by UP Warriorz for ₹30 lakh at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction held in Kochi on October 28, 2026. The experienced Indian all-rounder was acquired at her base price after the franchise opened the bidding without facing competition from other teams. The signing gives Rana a new opportunity to contribute to a different squad ahead of the upcoming WPL season.
Rana entered the auction after previously representing teams including Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals. Her experience across different franchises has made her a familiar name in the league. UP Warriorz added her to strengthen their Indian all-rounder options as teams worked to complete their squads for the 2027 competition.
Following her selection, Rana expressed excitement about joining UP Warriorz and thanked the franchise management for placing their trust in her. She said she wanted to give her best whenever she received an opportunity, regardless of the team she represented. Her comments reflected her enthusiasm about starting a new chapter in the tournament.
Rana also highlighted the prospect of playing alongside experienced players such as Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone. She expressed excitement about joining the team’s spin attack and playing with captain Meg Lanning. Her off-spin bowling and ability to contribute with the bat could provide the franchise with additional options when selecting its playing combination.
The ₹30 lakh deal places Sneh Rana among UP Warriorz’s additions for the 2027 WPL season, alongside players including Australian all-rounders Sophie Molineux and Grace Harris. While Molineux attracted a bid of ₹1.10 crore, Rana was secured at her base price. The effectiveness of the signing will ultimately depend on her performances during the tournament, as UP Warriorz prepare to compete against the other four franchises.
