Trump May Join World Cup Trophy Ceremony on July 19

US President Donald Trump could play a prominent role during the FIFA World Cup 2026 final trophy ceremony on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. According to multiple reports, FIFA has approved Trump's participation in the post-match presentation, allowing him to hand the World Cup trophy to the winning team's captain.

The reports suggest that Trump may also remain on the podium during the team's celebrations, a move that would differ from traditional World Cup protocol where dignitaries usually step aside after presenting the trophy.

The possibility has generated significant discussion among football fans and commentators worldwide. FIFA has not yet released the final ceremony plan, but Trump's expected involvement comes as the United States co-hosts the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico.

If confirmed, Trump's appearance would make him one of the most visible political figures involved in a FIFA World Cup trophy presentation in recent history.
